Caetano Coatings took another step towards reducing its carbon footprint. Following the sustainability strategy of the Parinama Group company, ENGIE Hemera installed 1320 solar panels at the Carregado unit, which will help Caetano Coatings reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

A photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of the industrial cluster, composed of 1320 photovoltaic modules, with a power of 455.4 kWp.

This investment allows the company to produce its electric energy locally, having an annual energy production of 556 MWh, which will contribute to an annual saving equivalent to 130 tons of CO2 or that corresponding to the consumption of 70 vehicles that make 15,000 km yearly.

This was the first self-consumption system installed by Caetano Coatings. We believe the use of clean energy will be an important contribution to the sustainability of our operation, reducing the environmental impact of our activities

, says Júlio Azeitão, responsible for maintenance at Caetano Coatings.

The modules were installed on the roof of the building, occupying an area of 7920 square meters.
This is an integrated measure in the Group’s policy of minimizing the carbon footprint resulting from its activities and, at the same time, increasing energy efficiency, reducing electricity costs and monetizing assets that would otherwise not be used.
